Oprah and Deepak host 21-day meditation challenge

The 21-Day Meditation Challenge for Perfect Health offers a daily welcome from Oprah, daily 15-minute guided meditations by Deepak, inspiration messages, images and centering thoughts, Sanskrit mantras and their meanings, and daily takeaways to help participants incorporate the lessons from meditation into daily life. Participants will also be sent daily reflection questions and an online journal to enter their thought.

“We will be your guides each day as together we discover how to recognize our body’s natural perfection and leverage its inherent wisdom,” the hosts say on their website, oprahdeepakmeditation.com.

Registration is through Facebook or email, which the hosts will use to send daily emails with a link to the program. The program is available for access any time of the day — each meditation is available for 10 days following its original posting — and the meditations can be listen to repeatedly.

Meditation can be a great way to release stress and briefly remove oneself from outside pressures, but Deepak suggests that this is only one way that meditation is helpful. “The real purpose of meditation is actually to tune in, not to get away from it all, but to get in touch with it all,” Chopra says on the Chopra Center’s website. “Not to just de-stress, but to find that peace within, the peace that spiritual traditions talk about that passes all understanding.”
